Planet Earth Fiber is excited to announce a fun, new self-finishing leather accessory!

The Mouse Zip Purse arrives just in time for the holidays and is one of our favorite gift ideas for the season. 

Measuring approximately 5” wide and 2.5” tall, the Mouse Zip Purse is made of soft lambskin leather in white, with black eyes and stitched black whiskers. Red leather accents the ears and nose, coordinating with a red zipper and wristlet strap “mouse tail”. A striped fabric finishes the roomy interior.

The canvas insert measures 1.25” and will fit our standard sized fob canvases (1.25” round). We love this accessory paired with the cheese canvas or the mouse canvas for a fully coordinated accessory.

Have you stitched with Milan yet?

Earlier this summer, we introduced a new single-strand thread to the Planet Earth Fiber family. Composed of 50% merino wool and 50% silk, Milan exudes a glossy, lustrous sheen and feels incredibly soft.

Available in 30-yard skeins, you can expect Milan to cover approximately 21-square inches on 13 mesh when using the basketweave stitch. However, Milan is suitable for both 13 and 18 count mesh.

Our self-finishing lambskin leather zip pouches are a staple project accessory for needlepointers. Each leather zip pouch includes space for a 3” x 5” canvas insert and a matching, detachable leather tassel and metal ferrule.

We currently have leather zip pouches in red, brown, and black (seen above with an Anne Fisher Needlepoint canvas).

Self-finishing leather zip pouches are one of our most popular accessories. They’re a wonderful showcase for highlighting a special piece of needlepoint and because of the natural lambskin leather, each pouch develops its own unique character and personality with age. Unlike “vegan” leather (which is really just plastic!), lambskin leather doesn’t flake or break. It simply softens, grows smoother, and develops a natural patina that deepens the color.
